Elder Prayer (8/15/21)

As we go to prayer this morning, I want to read a brief passage from Psalm 32:

Therefore let all the faithful pray to You while You may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them. You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Father, we praise you that you hear our prayers and that you want us to bring our praises and petitions to you!  We are thankful for your promises of deliverance, protection, instruction and counsel…all you ask is that we come to you!

So we come to you today, thanking you for your faithfulness and provision in our lives and the life of this church.  While we acknowledge that, we are aware that there are likely several here today who are experiencing illness, challenges, or difficulties and are perhaps not sensing your presence or your love for them.  We pray for them and healing for those who are sick and for those that are joining us today, that they will be encouraged and strengthened by worshiping together and the message from your Word as it is proclaimed.  May your Spirit be upon Pastor Dave as he shares with us today and may we be open to what you want us to learn as we apply it to our lives.

We pray for the country of Haiti which has just been through another devastating earthquake.  We pray for those who have lost love ones and for those involved with repair and recovery. Demonstrate your presence in powerful ways that those wh do not know you would come to you.

We are thankful for our Staff and many volunteers who work so diligently to serve the needs of our congregation and pray that you would encourage them in their work and protect them from the Enemy.

We pray for our upcoming Fall Ministries and for the plans surrounding them.  We know that our plans only achieve results as they are filtered through your will and direction so we pray that you would bless our efforts and that You would be glorified through the lives that will be changed.

We thank you for your financial provision for this church over the years and pray that you would continue to move in our hearts to give cheerfully to the work of our ministry and current needs as we worship you through our giving.

So we thank you for your presence with us today as we commit this worship time to you!

In the name of Jesus our Savior, Amen!
