Elder Prayer (5/15/22)

I will extol You, my God and King, and bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You and praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of Your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of Your righteousness. (Psalm 145:1-7)

Our Father, our desire is to follow David’s words from this psalm. We want to exalt You LORD, to praise Your name and tell of Your works and mighty acts from generation to generation. From mother and father to our children and our children’s children, as well as our neighbors, friends and co-workers. Supply us with the strength, stamina and courage to do this, for apart from You we are as helpless as leaves in the wind. Fill us with the Holy Spirit that we would know Your will and walk in it.

Our prayers and help continue for the families affected by the devastating tragedy on May 2. Comfort the families with Your assurance. We also remember those that are grieving the loss of a loved one and those that are in need of Your healing touch. You are the Great Physician. Heavenly Father, You offer Your peace to all those who come to You.

There are those in our midst with other concerns. Dear God, listen to their call. Whatever it may be: family matters, work related, financial, addiction. Help them to realize that You are listening and are able to supply their needs.

We ask, Father, that You would guide our nation. With the nearing election, give each of us the insight of choosing Your candidate. Give us Your wisdom. Also, please give Your insight and wisdom to those already in office on every level of government.

Thank You, Father, for the many blessing You have supplied, especially for the forgiveness of our sin through the atoning blood of You Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. In His name we pray, Amen.
