Committed Followers:  Serving Together in Small Groups

As followers of Jesus Christ, we show up for church every Sunday to praise the Lord, give an offering, and hear the Word of God. We don’t get a report card afterwards. No one is taking attendance. So how do we know how we’re doing as followers of Christ?

We know from the Bible that God wants us to apply His Word to our daily lives. Showing up one day of the week is not enough to be a committed follower.

Just like students go to class to prepare for the big test, and athletes have a practice before their next game, Christians need to focus on their spiritual growth in between Sundays. This can be difficult with all of the things we are doing in our lives, but one thing stands out as a great option to better serve the Lord, study the Word of God, and to richly embed ourselves into Grace Point … Small Groups

Many new Small Group members notice an immediate impact on their lives. Being in a group better allows the Lord to work through you as you grow spiritually together.

You also have the great opportunity to serve the Lord in your group by being there for fellow members when they’re in need. Our groups are places where we can KNOW, CARE and ENCOURAGE one another by praying for each other, supporting each other, and holding each other spiritually accountable. There is also opportunity to serve with your group members through Grace Point outreach into the local community, or globally through our Global Workers furthering God’s mission to far away cities and countries.

In The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren said:

You are going to give your life for something. What will it be – a career, a sport, a hobby, fame, wealth? None of these will have lasting significance. Service is the pathway to real significance. It is through ministry that we discover the meaning of our lives. The Bible says, “Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body.” As we serve together in God’s family, our lives take on eternal importance.

Being in a Small Group helps you be part of a fellowship. Being in a small group helps you grow spiritually. Being in a small group helps you be a committed follower of Jesus Christ!

We encourage you to take the important step of significance and become a more vital part of Christ’s Body.  To explore Small Groups at Grace Point you can join, please visit Grace Point (ccbchurch.com)
