Elder Prayer (7/10/22)

Our current sermon series is centered on the life of David. We may know that he was Israel’s greatest king, but we may not remember that over 70 of the Psalms were written by David. Here are some verses where David praises God for His love and care.

Psalm 145:1-7
I will extol You, my God and King,
and bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You
and praise Your name forever and ever.
Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised,
and His greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall commend Your works to another,
and shall declare Your mighty acts.
On the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
and on Your wondrous works, I will meditate.
They shall speak of the might of Your awesome deeds,
and I will declare Your greatness.
They shall pour forth the fame of Your abundant goodness
and shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.

Will you pray with me?

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your continued blessings and Your protection. You are always with us. We are never out of Your presence.

Strengthen us as we live in a culture that is turning its back on You. Give us the courage to follow Your truths in a society that does not value Your ways. Lord, we confess our sins. Make our hearts more like Yours. We pray that our lives reflect the love of Christ. Give us the boldness to look for opportunities to share the gospel in our spheres of influence.

We pray for our nation’s leaders. We pray that they will desire to follow Your ways as they represent us. Surround our leaders with people who love You and will give them godly counsel.

Lord, bless those individuals in our congregation who are going through difficult times. We pray that the Holy Spirit comforts the both the Cobb/McCollough clan and the Hack family as they mourn the recent deaths of family members. We also pray that for healing for those facing health concerns and that You will supply the needs of those facing financial difficulties.

Thank You for Your faithfulness to Grace Point. Thank You for the conclusion of a successful ministry year. Thank You for our staff as they plan programs to meet the needs of our congregation. Protect them from Satan’s efforts to curtail their ministry. Thank You for supplying our financial needs. As we enter our new ministry year, we pray for Jeremy Davis and our young people. Later this month, our teens will be going to Harvey Cedars for a week of camp. We pray that will be a time of spiritual growth and also a time when students will realize their need for a Savior and accept Christ as their Lord.

Bless Sophie Allers as she is growing into her role as Director of Children’s Ministries. May next month’s “Children’s Ministry Summer Extravaganza” will be a blessing to families in our congregation.

Bless Denise Nichols as she leads our Focus Project to Amchit Church in Lebanon. We pray for the upcoming missions trip in November. We pray that the Holy Spirit will begin to work in the hearts of those You desire to serve You in this endeavor.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness both to us personally and the blessings we have as a body of believers at Grace Point. We lift these prayers to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
